Home Make Over.

Picture: We heart it

V decided earlier this summer that it was time to remake the kitchen and bedroom in his appartment. The big project started about a week ago and the kitchen is finally getting ready now and it looks great! There are a few more details that the carpenters need to fix but we're hoping they'll do it as fast as possible.

However, the bedroom is still a dissaster. The plan is to paint the walls with a white brighter colour since the room is quite small. We've also planned to exchange the old floor with a new wooden pannel but as I said it's going to take time to get it ready before we can move back in.

The new bed is waiting to be unpacked and I am so looking forward to decorate the bedroom with personal details that suits both V and I. I've taken lots of before and after pictures so I promise to show you when it's ready!

Indoor Inspiration.

Picture: Collage made by me (pics borrowed from Chilli store & IKEA)

Moving to Örebro also means I get to have my own appartment or at least my own room (I haven't got it yet but I will soon enough!) which I can decorate with my favourite colours/items. Both stores (as mentioned above) have so many nice things and for a good price (!) which suits any student who has a low budget.

Anyway hopefully these are a few items I wish to bring with me, you know my Birthday is coming up soon (26th of January) and it would be a perfect opportunity to "wish" for some of these things. The rest I'll buy them myself! :) I'm soooo excited!!

White Winter.

Picture: Collage made by me see list of items below (click to enlarge!)

It will soon be mid November and not a single snowflake has fallen yet (!).. I wonder where are you white winter? Honestly one could not be more prepared for it as we are now. Anyway I'm sure it should be here any day now. I'm positive about it! Fingers crossed! :)

Meanwhile I was searching for some inspiration for Christmas presents and other interior details I found some wonderful things that I would love to use to decorate my room this year. The snowflake lights I bought about one month ago I believe, at IKEA.

However I do love the beautiful pillow not to mention the perfect throw to have on my bed! I got a pair of slippers last year that are almost worn out so this cute pair is very much welcome to my bedroom. Somehow it feels as if I'm going to have to put them all on my Christmas list... :)

White Wardrobe.

Picture: Private - taken by me with my iPhone (Click to enlarge!)

I apologize for the blurry pictures in the collage but I did not manage to get the right light in my room when I took them. Anyway so this is how my two wardrobes looked like and after the make-over! :) The white colour goes perfect with my white walls and the room does feel a lot bigger now than before.

This I must say it was a very hard job with several different moments before I could even start painting the wardrobes but I could not be happier about the end result! Thanks dad for all the help & guidance you gave me before I started the project & my brother E for helping me paint the last white layer. I could not have done it without you ♥

Anyway I'm also planning on adding a few new boxes and hangers to the left wardrobe where I have most of my clothes hanging. Maybe one can find some inspiration through Internet or perhaps Zara Home might have something interesting?

Restoring Rain.

I'm so happy it rained today. We've had thick clouds and humid temperatures for almost two weeks now and every tree and flower in my neighbourhood have dried out because of the lack of water. Guess I wasn't the only one smiling today as I walked through the rain while looking at a tall and beautiful birch.

Today I also finished a little project that I've been working on these last couple of days. As I've written previously my bedroom has been in focus for quite some time now since there have been a few things that I've wanted to change/redecorate. One of my ideas was to repaint my two big closets from a wooden pine to a snow white finish. I started last Sunday and finally finished today!

I cannot tell you how happy I am about the end result, it looks so beautiful and the room feels a lot bigger now. Luckily I remembered to take before and after pictures so you'll be able to see a small collage tomorrow ;) My family thought it's a bit crazy considering I'm moving out by the beginning of January but still, it will always be my room and I like the idea of coming home to a well organized and decorated room according to my taste & style.

Next step is to start saving for some new furniture, a new desk & a few other details that I have in mind. It's sad though that I'll be leaving it when it will be absolutely perfect. Guess someone will get homesick? :) Mostly because I will miss my amazing family not to mention my best friends & colleagues from work ♥ I love you ALL!

Bedroom Mood board part II.

Picture: Collage made by me, pictures from We heart it

As some of you might have noticed I've been planning on redecorating my bedroom for quite some time now. My dad convinced me to start with it during summer since it would be much easier to paint both walls and wardrobe when it's warmer outside.

I have so many ideas inside my head and normally I end up drawing or writing in my notebook before I turn in for bed. Luckily I haven't run out of pages, yet. Anyway I've made several collages for ideas and inspiration in order to get a better picture of how it hopefully will look like when I've finished the project.

Light colours always enlarge a room and after a teenage period when I had both baby blue and light purple walls I'm thinking white or perhaps a light beige colour to the walls. After repainting my wardrobe it will also make the room look bigger, today it has the colour of oak tree and is a "dominant" piece of furniture in my bedroom, my goal is that it shall have the opposite function.

A new lamp for the ceiling would not only give me better light but also add a personal touch to the room, today I have these ugly three metal sticks (similar to a spotlight lamp) in the ceiling, very boring and so not my style. It's time for a change! :) Oh, I can't wait to get started..!

Bedroom Mood board.

Picture: Collage made by me

For months I have been planning to redecorate my bedroom and I'm looking forward to the upcoming transformation that will take place during this spring/summer. It's not that big of a room which is why I have to think practical and my main goal is to make it feel "bigger" by using bright colours such as white, crème and a few golden details. A wall of white frames containing black and white coloured photographs would also make the room a little bit more personal as would a big bouquet of roses.

I have decided to order the desk from Swedish Vasahem and the beautiful armchair from Ilva since I believe that they would look very good together. My wardrobe also needs a "lift" and I still don't know whether if one should paint it with a covering white colour or to create a similar finish such as seen on Engla's chest of drawers? I must also make new order among my clothes and I'm aiming to have hangers such as this adorable pearl hanger from Lisbeth Dahl and white padded satin hangers. I just wanted to get started now! :)

Living the American Dream.

As I mentioned previously I adore traditional homes of the American East coast and the one above is no exception.. Enjoy all the beautiful pictures below! All pictures from Skeppsholmen, for more info about this house click here

The heart of a home, fabulous kitchen

Cosy fireplace and I love the contrast with the white sofas and the chocolate brown details such as the cushions and plaids

Cute dining room where the "half wall" gives the room an "open space" towards the living room

Master bed room, the bed looks huge it must be a king-size ;) Although the first thing my eyes fell for in this picture is the beautiful window. I'm sure I would love the view too!

Christmas Details for every Home.

Picture: Collage made by me (pictures from Cox & Cox)

As I was searching for inspiration online while eating breakfast this morning I happened to enter this wonderful British website called Cox & Cox. Here I found this adorable wooden star, silver candlesticks and vintage canvas weekend bag. Perfect Christmas details to decorate every home. I'm very tempted to buy the candlesticks but first on my shopping list are the Christmas gifts ;)

Besides the New York trip was an early Christmas present to myself. Although my birthday is coming up soon which reminds me of today's date - 1st of December! Only 23 days to go.. I wish you all a beautiful day!

Colonial Collage.

Picture: Collage made by me, pictures from Bloominghome & Par Courrier

Above are a few pictures that I came across this morning while surfing around for inspiration on the Internet. Fantastic colonial style pieces that I'd love to have in my home.

For some reason I woke up this morning having so many new ideas of how to decorate my room. When I come home from NY I will start planning. Time to get ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

Black, White & Gold Details.

Picture: Unknown

I love the cool details in the room as seen in the photography above. The country-like white wooden floor, the classic black & white frames on the wall, the perfect pile of magazines on the floor, the black elegant sofa that makes the picture unique not to mention the crystals hanging down from the roof - that sets the angelic Gloria of the room. It's genius and absolutely perfect.

Let there be Light.

Picture: Collage made by me, from the top left corner (1) Therez Garderob (Translation - Therez' Wardrobe), (2) Carlsson Interior, (3) Victoria Törnegren's blog, (4) Engla's Showroom

For years I've been searching for the perfect silver candelabra to have in my room/future apartment (when I'll be living on my own). Above are a few examples of what I had in mind, where nr 2 (seen from the top) can be bought online through Carlsson's Interior (see link above).

I'm only afraid that I don't have that much room for one at the moment. One probably needs more space due to it's hight and wide arms. Honestly, isn't it beautiful? How cosy to have one of these standing in a corner, glowing in the darkest night of autumn. I know someone who would truly love it! ;)
