Welcome October.

Picture: We heart it

Sorry for the bad update this past week! I've been very busy writing on home exams, driving (I'm aiming to get my driver's license by the end of November), studying, hanging out with friends (lovely chocolate fondue evening at S' place) and last but not least spent time with my love and friends in Stockholm last weekend. More pictures will come up later from these fun days!

This week's main focus has been yet another home exam, this term we've had four home exams to write and I've done three out of five now, and due date is tomorrow at 12 AM. The time has literally run away and suddenly it's Friday tomorrow! V is coming to Örebro Friday evening and will spend his last weekend here with me. Crazy (!), I can't believe that this is the very last weekend that we will spend here together before I leave for Stockholm in the beginning of November. I remember when we became a couple in the very beginning of my education (february 2012) and how I thought that three years would be such a long time to be apart and now we're so close to the big goal - my graduation! :)

By the way, I have lots to tell you about the graduation ceremony! Hopefully I've have some time later tonight! Now it's time to get ready to start this rainy yet cosy (!) Thursday since my friend M will be heading over here within 30 min. Wish us luck in our writing today! May you all have a great day!

Wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning dear readers, how are you feeling today? It's Wedneday, midweek and the weather could have been better. Only 6.7 °C outside and a very grey/cloudy sky but that can't affect my glorious mood that I'm having today! :) Simply because I'm going to see my love V tonight ♥ Finally after nearly two weeks apart. But before that I have to pack, organize my things that I'm bringing to Stockholm and an interesting seminar to prepare with a few classmates.

V asked me the other day what I wanted to do tonight and I told him that I could do anything as long as we were together. He came up with an excellent idea, to cuddle up at home with a cup of hot chocolate and watch The chronicles of Narnia tonight, one of my all time favourite movies! :) Guess how much I long for tonight? *smiling* In other words there is nothing that can ruin this day! Anyway I better get going but I'll try to pop in here later this afternoon when I'm on the train.
Wishing you all a Wonderful Wednesday!

Morning Monday.

Rise and shine dear readers! I hope you've slept well. These last two days I've been able to sleep deep, so thankful for that after a week with hardly no sleep at all. I woke up only a few minutes before the alarm went off and I stayed in bed a few minutes after that as well ;) Best way to start a new day! Anyway, it's Monday and a new week is about to begin. I have a very exciting week to look forward too! Today I'm only going to stay indoors, writing on my home exam. The deadline is on Friday this week and I want to finish it as soon as possible.

Tomorrow Tuesday I'll be at the University library reading, studying and preparing myself for a seminar on Wednesday afternoon. Midweek I've got to prepare with my group before the seminar in the morning and later in the afternoon I'll be heading to Stockholm. Thursday I'm going to the hairdresser in the morning (Finally! My hair looks awful, I haven't coloured it since May..) and in the afternoon I have a meeting with my supervisor and his boss at Ericsson.

Thursday evening V has ordered to have a date night since we haven't seen each other for a few weeks now so he's taking me out for dinner ♥ Friday I'll be heading back to Örebro in the morning to attend a lecture and hopefully spend some time with my friends later on the evening. Saturday and Sunday I'm busy working and hang out with the girls later in the evenings. I think that's about it. Busy busy schedule this week :) Luckily I look forward to all these things and I'm positive over the fact that it's going to be a great week. Time to make myself another cup of tea..

The Weekend.

Good morning dear readers! I hope you've had a great weekend so far. I'm finally starting to feel a lot better, no more fever yet my throat is still sore. But I'm getting there! :) I've been eating antibiotics for almost five days now so I'm hoping to be fully recovered by the end of the next week. This weekend has all only been about resting and taking it easy.

My main focus yesterday was to tidy up my apartment and to clean up after this week's sickness. There is no better feeling than to go to bed and sleep in fresh and clean sheets. Happiness! I also decided to watch a chick flick last night called Valentine's Day, have you seen it? Such a good feel-good movie, I even cried a little by the end ;)

Anyway, today is Sunday and I have a home exam to write, a task from last week to finish and a seminar to prepare for Wednesday next week. Busy day in other words. Besides that I also have a meeting at Ericsson in Stockholm to prepare for which is next week for my upcoming practice in November. So exciting!

Oh my, I just realized that there's only 1,5 week left of September.. Crazy how time flies! I'm hoping to be able to spend more time outdoors in October than I've been able to do this month. Looking forward to be able to wear warm knits, go for long walks and enjoy hot cups of tea and cocoa :) Okey, miss dreamy, time to kick start this new day! Talk to you guys later!

Pneomonia.

Good morning dear readers, I hope all of you are in good health. Speaking of health, I'm sorry that I've mentioned my illness so many times these last couple of days here in the blog. For those of you who find this way too boring come back again next week, hopefully I'm a lot better by then.

However, I decided to go to the hospital this morning since my fever is still hanging around and my throat is a lot worse than yesterday. After a few tests the doctor said that I have pneumonia (lunginflammation in Swedish). So the doctor prescribed antibiotics and some medicine for my throat and hopefully it will get better within 10 days. Talking about being out of luck, this is the worst possible way to start this new term. But all I can do now is to rest, sleep and just regain my strength.

Meanwhile I try to do at least read a few pages each day since I have an upcoming home exam that will be released this Friday. I'm honestly a bit nervous about it but hopefully it will all turn out well. I've tried to watch a few movies but my eyes fill so heavy after only 20 min.. :( So I've decided to sleep, rest and blog a little instead. I've also lost count of how many tea muggs that are standing in my zink right now.. But no need to worry about that now, I'll deal with that later.

Home Sick.

Good evening dear readers, I trust you've all had a good start of this new week? I have been home all day today, coughing, sleeping and the fever has gone up and down. Not the best start in other words but I think my body needed this after working the entire weekend with this virus deep inside. Unfortunately I missed a lecture this morning but luckily M is going to borrow me her notes so I can copy them tomorrow. I have an important seminar to attend tomorrow at Uni so I decided to rest until then. My fever is gone now I think all that's left is my stubborn cough.. :( But hopefully some tea, fresh ginger and honey can make it go away.

About one hour ago I heard a soft knocking on my door and since I don't have a peek hole I hesitated in opening, I wasn't expecting anyone today? But after a minute I slowly opened the door and suddenly I saw my two friends L & M standing outside the door with a bag in their hands. They came to surprise me with goodies in order to get better. So sweet and so thoughtful of them. Thank you again girls, your visits truly made my day ♥ Not only did they bring me delicious tea but also a packet of noodles and my favorite candy - cherries! The highlight of this long and very boring day..!

Anyway I'm going to enjoy a nice and calm evening with some Christmas jazz that I found earlier today through Spotify. But first I better make myself some noodle soup and a cup tea!

Sunday Morning.

Good morning, I hope you've all had a good nights sleep. Luckily I slept a lot better last night, the painkillers did their job before I went to bed. Anyway I believe I'm fever free today but my throat feels very sore and head is aching. Hopefully today's breakfast and cup tea will help me get a little bit better before I'm off to work.

I just remembered today is election day in Sweden. Today we vote and decide how the coming four years will look like. I'm sure it will be an interesting process all day today, all the votes that are to be counted and all the TV-shows will have their own shows discussing the upcoming result. The girls talked about having an election get-together tonight. Still I haven't decided whether if I should participate or not, it depends on how I'm feeling later today after work. It's sad but I think all my "good energy" will be consumed at work so I don't know how much there will be left, but we'll see.

I just realized that today within 8 weeks I'll be in Stockholm preparing myself for the first day of my practice at Ericsson. The bare thought of it makes me so happy and excited. Another positive thing is that I won't be working any more weekends during my practice. It will probably take some time to get used to, especially since I've worked at different stores these last 8 years (!) and been scheduled to work 3 out of 4 weekends every month. To be able to sleep longer, enjoy a long breakfast, go out for a walk and simply having no plans at all is a very appealing thought. 5 more weekends to go! :)

Swedish "kräftskiva" / Crayfish party.

Good evening! I hope you've all had a good start of the weekend. Last night's crayfish party turned out to a huge success! I believe we were 13 guests in total during the dinner where the majority were classmates of mine. Everybody contributed in some way either by decorating, baking pies, preparing salad etc. It was a nice get-to-gether and we sang and ate so much delicious food during the evening my throat was sore before I went to bed. Most of the group went out dancing later in the evening as I decided to go home since I had to work today.

However something happened when I got home around 1 AM in the morning, suddenly I was very cold and hot at the same time and I realized that I had gotten fever chills :( So I slept very poorly last night with an awful pain in my back and head but went to work anyway this morning. I felt rather ok when I woke up but during the end of the day I felt completely exhausted. I took a warm shower as soon as I got home and ate a hot noodle soup. I had to go for a short walk afterwards to the closest grocery shop to buy myself some more painkillers for tonight and tomorrow.

Right now I'm lying in my bed, listening to soft piano music and enjoying the soft candle light from my kitchen table. Resting and trying to recover from this illness. A positive thing is about being at home is that I am able to blog and write :) A few pictures from last night will pop up any minute.

TGIF.

Rise & shine people! I'm so happy it's Friday! No lectures today and I'm excited for tonight's party at my friend L's place. People have been talking about it for a week now and everybody is bringing something to eat so I'm sure it's going to be lots of fun!

My apartment looks like a complete mess so I'm going to spend the morning cleaning and tiding it up for the weekend. I'm working this weekend as well so there is no better feeling than coming home to a clean apartment ;) On sunday it's election day in Sweden and the girls and I talked about having a smaller election get to gather in the evening. Awesome weekend with so many fun happenings to look forward to!

Anyway I better get started over here, but first I'll post a picture of tonight's dress that I'm wearing tonight. My wardrobe is like the Narnia closet, I can always find hidden and forgotten (!) treasures in there :) For example I have one too many LBD.. Picture coming up soon! I wish you all a happy Friday!

Autumn of 2014.

Hello dear readers! Funny, it's been almost one year since I last posted something here on my blog. Truth be told, I have been far too busy with life and all that goes along with it and simply forgotten to prioritize my writing. However I am happy to say that I will try my very best this time and try to keep up with it this time and continue writing on at least a weekly basis. After all it is a hobby that makes me feel so good.

Anyway, what's new? A week ago I entered the last term (6th term) for my education at Örebro University. I still have to pinch myself in the arm to remind myself of that I will be graduating from Uni in less than four months (!) I can't believe how fast time has passed us by. My three year education is going towards its end which makes me both excited and sad at the same time. I am so anxious to start the next chapter of my life in Stockholm, begin to work full-time, move in with my love V and to start my own career. Still, I will miss my old life in Örebro as well, my classmates and closest friends and all that goes with the student life in general. Luckily it seems as if my closest friends also will be moving to Stockholm so we won't have to live too far from each other!

This term is special in many ways, not only is it our last and final term at University but we will also have an eight weeks trainee/practice from mid november until our last week of studies in january 2015. The students in my class have contacted different organizations in Örebro and Stockholm where we will be spending these weeks performing individual HR-projects within the assigned organization. I feel so lucky to have been given an opportunity to spend these weeks at Ericsson in Kista, Stockholm. Somehow I have gotten the impression that a lot has changed within the company since my both parents worked there for more than 25 years ago and that they have developed new strategies in how to attract graduates in to come working for them. I am very excited to learn more about how they work and the values that are distinctive for their organization.

I have also yet another exciting event to look forward to by the end of september, for the 30/9 and 1st of october I will be attending the so called HR-days in Stockholm. An event organized by the Swedish Human Resource Association where leaders from a broad variety of different companies will hold presentations related to the HR-area. The event will last during two days with lots of fun lectures and meetings, a perfect way to make new acquaintances and contacts in my future profession.

During mid october V and I have booked a trip to the beautiful city Prague. I have heard that it is a beautiful city with culture and history that is worth experiencing, not to mention the cheap (!) yet delicious beer which I am sure V will enjoy very much ;) I have made a list of monuments and activities to do during our 6 days stay. If you have any other tips please do share it with me! My very close friend M and I have also been talking a lot of arranging a trip before Christmas. We had our minds set on a city in Europe and have decided to visit London in december. Unfortunately I may have to bring my books during these two vacations but I still find it to be worth it! I am so happy and feel so grateful to be given this opportunity to travel this autumn and to experience both autumn and winter in new and old places.

Talking about December, the Christmas preparations are starting to unfold in my mind and to-do-lists are slowly appearing in my calendar. Some people call me crazy but I am truly one of the biggest fans of Christmas and since it is such a short season I try to enjoy it the very most by start planning it early in order to fully enjoy it when Christmas Eve finally arrives. This year I am hoping to find inspiration from old Christmas tales, Swedish and British traditions and creative ideas from my own childhood. This year I am also hoping to be able to create my own hand-made Christmas cards and the list of creative things goes on.. I can't reveal all my ideas just yet, be patient and you will surely see more of it here on the blog!

Anyway time to call it a night, thanks for reading and sharing my thoughts with me tonight. I wish you all a good nights' sleep or a great day depending on what time it is at your place right now! :) Love Liv

Planning a Christmas trip.

I have been thinking about doing some sort of mini Christmas trip this year. My first thoughts were to visit Edinburgh, Dublin or perhaps London (which V and I visited earlier this year when celebrating my 25th birthday). Unfortunately the two first cities seemed to have very expensive flights so I might go to London if I can find a nice hotell somewhat near the city.

The main reason for this trip is to get a break from school/Uni and to enjoy a Christmas sparkling city and I thought why not London? :) My biggest dream is yet so far to visit New York while all the Christmas decorations are up. Hopefully I'll be able to fulfill this dream some time soon. Time to sleep now since I've got a long day of studying tomorrow. Sweet dreams!

Busy Week.

Good evening dear readers! I trust you've had a good week? :) It's amazing how fast these last couple of days have gone by. I wrote my home exam tuesday to thursday, I even stayed up all night before handing it in on thursday morning. It was very difficult but at least I did my best! Cross your fingers for me! Anyway therefore I was exhausted on thursday and went home to sleep a few hours during the day before meeting up my friends K, L & M for a sleep-over at L's place.

It was the best way to end the exam by having a girl's night and doing things such as painting our nails, talking and just hanging out just the four of us which we haven't done in a while. Anyway it was very cosy! Friday we had a long breakfast together before K & L had to go to town for some errands. Meanwhile M and I where still a bit sleepy/tired so we decided to stay at L's place and watched tv-shows on L's laptop which was very cosy!

Friday evening we changed location and the four of us went home to my apartment to get ready for a big party at M's boyfriends place. We had lots of fun and went to the local student pub here in Örebro and continued dancing until 2 AM.. Saturday and Sunday have consisted of work at IKEA and now I'm just enjoying a nice and calm evening at my place. All the candles are burning and I might just make myself a nice cup of tea before turning into bed in one hour or two. What are you up to tonight?

The Weekend.

Hey dear readers! I apologize for the bad updates during this weekend. I headed to Stockholm last Friday and stayed until Sunday morning since I had to return to Örebro and work during the afternoon. All in all it was a busy weekend with lots of scheduled meetings with both family and friends.

On Friday evening V surprised me with all the ingredients to do a home-made pizza! A fun fact is that every time he and I decide to go out and eat pizza I always order a "Hawaii" with extra pineapple on it and 90% of the time I end up disappointed since they don't put enough pineapple (according to the proportions that I desire - for I am truly obsessed of this fruit!!). The pizza turned out to be so good and we had lots of fun while making it :) V also bought a package of three of those aluminium cans with pineapple inside it - just to make his girlfriend happy and satisfied! My sweet, sweet love ♥

After dinner we watched The internship featuring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. Both V and I laughed a lot during the movie, not to mention the great soundtrack that was in the movie. A movie definitely worth watching and interesting to get an insight of the big company Google.

Saturday morning I headed out to my old neighborhood (30 min train ride from Stockholm) to visit two little boys that I used to babysit a few years ago. I might have mentioned them before? Anyway since these two upcoming weekends are all about Halloween I decided to paint two mini-pumpkins to the boys like the ones my friends and I painted at the Halloween night at my place. The golden pumpkins made a huge success! I got a bit sentimental when I saw how much the boys had grown... Crazy how time flies. So many old memories flashed by my eyes and it's hard to describe how much joy these two little boys have given me throughout the years. Definitely one of the highlights this weekend! ♥

The day followed by a nice lunch with my parents, my brother E and his friend R in town. We talked a lot about our universities but also a lot about the new iPhone 5s that was recently released, I believe it was last week? I love how E and I always get so "geeky" when it comes to these kind of things such as technology. I realized how much I miss my family, especially my brothers.

Saturday evening continued with a lovely dinner at V's parent's place. We talked a lot about V's upcoming birthday (He will be 30 in december!) and our plans for Christmas. We also watched a movie before V and I went home. I had to get up pretty early the morning after to catch my train back to Örebro. The weekend flew by and I'm amazed that I managed to do so many things. But more importantly I enjoyed the time that  I spent with the people that mean the most to me.

Sunday, 20 October 2013

The blog pause has ended.

Hello dear readers. It's been far too long since I have written anything here in the blog. I just realized that the last post that I made was in February earlier this year.. Crazy!

The truth is that I have been occupied with my studies at the University and all that comes along with it such as friends, social events, work etc. Not to mention my private life consisting of my boyfriend (V and I have been a couple for 20 months now so yes we are still going strong!) along with my family of course.

Anyway, I was just thinking about the blog earlier today and thought why not start writing again? I have missed writing on a daily basis and therefore I'm hoping to start doing so again. I can start off by telling you about this last weekend! V came to visit me here in Örebro and we spent Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday together and with my friends here.

It feels like we have been doing so many fun things! Friday evening we stayed at home, Saturday we spent some time in town and had a great evening with my friends and all of their boyfriends - we were 4 couples all together! And today (Sunday) we woke up around noon after last night's party and decided to head out for a nice walk around the area before meeting up with the group from last night to have pizza together.

V's train was a bit delayed and left around 9 PM tonight but I stayed with him at the train station at least for a little while and my heart wished it could have stayed for so much longer.. It's just never going to get easier to say good bye, not even after having a distance-relationship for 20 months.

Still, it's a new day tomorrow and new week. I should get ready for bed now since I've got a long day with lectures tomorrow. I wish you all a good night's sleep! I'll write more tomorrow!

Disney Classics.

Picture: We heart it

I officially hate this awful flue/cold or whatever this is.. :( This is my fifth day I've been at home being sick. I don't remember the last time I got this type of virus in my system? Apparently my body is still completely worn out since I get dizzy every time I have to get up from the couch and my nose start to drop every time I'm up and on my feet, pretty annoying. Anyway, I guess one can just "wait" it out. I'm happy that the fever has gone down but my eyes has started itching instead and are all red :(

*Bless you!* (I just sneezed..) Oh boy, this is so NOT fun. I mean, I was hoping that I could stay in and watch a bunch of old classic Disney movies but I can't because of my sore eyes. I watched TV all weekend and maybe it was just too much for them? My plan was to read/study a bit too but I simply haven't had the energy to lift up the book.

Maybe I should take a nap and see if I can get started later? Even though I'm pretty sure I will get even more tired after I wake up.. Oh, sorry guys for typing all this nonsense, my head is just not thinking clear right now. I'll be back later.

Februari & Fever.

Good morning dear readers, I trust you have all slept well? Unfortunately I had a rather rough night :( I woke up at 4 AM with a high fever, soar throat and an awful headache. Yesterday was the same so I guess that it's some kind of virus or cold that has entered my system. My good friend M had the same symptoms yesterday so maybe it's something that has been spread at the University?

My dad came by my apartment yesterday, to help me build a smaller bureau that I bought from IKEA a couple of weeks ago but also to install my TV that I got for my 25th Birthday from my family. It turned out to be something wrong with my adepter/contact in the wall in my living room and therefore sadly we were not able to fulfill the last mission, such a disappointment! Hopefully I'll get help from the landlord to fix it by the beginning of next week.

I was supposed to work this weekend but considering how I felt yesterday, last night and this morning I decided to stay home and recover. No work today nor tomorrow. It's been a few hectic weeks so this might be my body's way to say stop - enough! For this is my confession, I might have ignored signs along the way. So this weekend is going to consist of lots of resting and sleeping indoors. You may expect quite a few posts too, since I'll finally have some time to write. Next up: Breakfast!

Busy like a little Bumblebee.

Picture: We heart it

Good morning folks! It's really been such a busy week.. Lots to study for the upcoming exam on Friday next week! Cross your fingers for me will you..? Apparently it's supposed to be a tough one so I'm a little bit nervous, hopefully it will go well.

I have some great news to tell you! I got back my economics exam this week which I wrote before Christmas and I got an A!!!! Yaaaay! I couldn't believe it.. Yet I am so proud over myself. I must say, what a great start of the new academic year of 2013! :)

Anyway I better get started, I have a looong weekend ahead of me starting today. Just like the picture says above, "it's time to work a little harder".. Wish me luck! Later guys!

Rise & Shine.

Good morning dear readers, I hope you all slept well? :) I sure didn't, for some reason I woke up several times and couldn't fall asleep again when I woke up at 6 AM. Thanks to a 45 min power walk, a delicious protein boosted smoothie and a boiled egg I now feel so much better!

Reloaded, full of energy and ready to start a new week! It's going to be a very stressful week since I have a big exam coming up on the 18th of January.. Wish me luck folks! Well guess it's time for a shower! Later skaters

Home Sweet Home.

Good evening dear readers, I hope you have all had a terrific thursday! I spent most of the day in the car with my father & mother as we headed out on a little road trip from Stockholm to Örebro. My Christmas vacation is officially over and I'm back in Örebro, the town I now call home sweet home.

I have this year's first seminar tomorrow and a busy weekend to look forward since I'll be working at IKEA both Saturday and Sunday. Still, I couldn't be happier about it - finally some new routines! Let me put it this way, I have been eating numerous kinds of sweets, enjoyed all type of Christmas dishes, relaxed, laughed and spent lots of quality time with both family & friends.

In other words I have had the best winter holiday in a very long time. My batteries are charged with new energy and can't wait to get this new academic year started! I am also excited to get back to my work out routines and eating healthier and "clean" food. Which leads me to my top priority goal this year. I will be turning 25 this year and wish to get in the best shape ever!

Starting off tomorrow, I'll be on a 3 weeks intense detox/work out programme in order to get ready for my birthday on the 26th of January :) Regular power walks, 2-3 work out sessions at the gym and healthy food will hopefully give me some good results when the big day arrives. This will be the first goal on the way to reach my main goal, remember baby steps and one must not rush but have patience.

Time to get ready for bed, I have a fun day to look forward to tomorrow! Sweet dreams
